When the art installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red
was shown at the Tower of London, the public outpouring of emotion was massive and it was decided that the two Poppy designs of Wave
and Weeping Window
by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper would tour the country.
14-18 NOW the arts programme for the First World War centenary had commissioned the art installation.
They hired producer Anna Eastment and DOP/cameraman Tim Curtis to follow and film the Poppies UK Tour.
After 4 years and 19 locations later and with hours of 4K footage including drone material, ITV used this material and
aired a documentary called
Britain's Poppies: The First Wold War Remembered on Armistice day 2018.
After the Tower of London, the Poppies were viewed by over 4.6 million visitors at 19 UK-wide locations. From Orkney to Plymouth and Caernarfon to Belfast, Tim & Anna filmed every installation, as well as producing and filming historical feature stories about the locations WW1 legacy.

Personally it was a really great project to work on and I am really proud to have done so. Many of the locations were inner-city and a lot of time and planning went into drone shoots. We managed to fly and film in every location, bar one, due to terrible weather conditions. We even had a NATO ship turn up at one location and we had to change our drone launch area at the last minute, but we still got the shots.
